Dalemead is staffed in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009. In particular, we will ensure that as is reasonably possible there will be suitably qualified, competent and experienced staffs in sufficient numbers as are appropriate for the health and welfare of residents.
In addition to the registered manager, the home employs a deputy manager, two team leaders, 26 care assistants (Day Duty), 7 care assistants (Night Duty), 1 cook-in-charge, 2 assistant cook, 5 domestic staff, 1 laundry assistant, 1 full-time activity organiser, 1 part-time craft instructor, an ‘extend’ music & movement teacher, 2 administrators and a full-time maintenance person.
There is always 3 care staff member available through the night and a senior staff member is always on call.
All ancillary staff receives training in the home’s philosophy and values. Dalemead has employed a highly qualified in house trainer who ensures that staffs have all up to date training.
Dalemead is fully committed to staff learning and development. The registered manager, Anwar Phul, is qualified as follows: RMN (Registered Mental Nurse) RGN (Registered General Nurse), CQSW (Certificate in the Qualification of Social Work), Dip. SW (Diploma in Social Work) and Certificate in Management Studies. The Deputy (Lynn Whittaker) is a NVQ Assessor and has achieved her Managers Award (LMC). The team leaders have all achieved their Level 3 National Vocational Qualifications in Health and Care. 80% of staff has achieved their NVQs Level 2.
